Russian stocks may decline amid negative foreign background
MOSCOW, Jan 29 (PRIME) -- Russian stocks may decrease at the opening on Friday under the pressure of the negative foreign background, analysts said.
The foreign background before the start of trading in Russia is negative, the U.S. stock index futures are losing over 0.5%, Alor Broker analyst Alexei Antonov said. Oil remains stable trading slightly above U.S. $55 per barrel, he added.
“So, we expect the opening with a serious decline. Most likely, the MOEX Russia Index will break through the support of 3,300 points and open the way for a decline by another 100 points,” Antonov said.
“The Russian market will again partially receive support from the depreciation of the ruble, but it will not be enough to close the morning gap if the external background does not sharply improve,” he added.
